You'll be pleased by the well equipped kitchen / diner, high quality mattresses and bedding and plentiful wardrobe / drawer space, the great range of maps  and visitor information, and all the other little touches we provide.

The house is warm with a modern central heating system & the ability to digitally adjust temperature room by room. Guests rate the high flow shower and super clean bathroom. It's really special to light the log burner in the stunning inglenook fireplace in the living room on an evening and just relax.

We've a south facing 'suntrap' cottage garden with patio, and a secure gated paved area just outside the kitchen door. Of course we live in a digital age, so we provide free superfast Wifi. There's plenty of parking in Hawes too; either roadside for free or in two pay car parks.

For parents / grandparents with young children we offer stairgates, a fire guard, high chair, and a travel cot. And our four legged friends are also well cared for with a dog station (use of dog towels, dog bowls and complimentary treats).

Hawes - A Great Base for visiting The Yorkshire Dales

Hawes is a perfect base surrounded by some of the best countryside in The Dales, that's just big enough (it's a proud town but really the size of a lovely village) to offer the amenities that most other dales settlements can't offer. 

Independent shops including grocers and butcher / baker, cafe's / eateries and pubs, one of the best fish and chip shops in the country, curry house,  sweet shop, ice cream parlour, bike hire, galleries, and an array of services (including cash points, tourist information, Post Office, petrol station and public EV chargers). We also have the Little White Bus service, which links into so many walking options as a means of returning to base, and also provides a daily service to the red squirrel reserve at Snaizeholme.

Within Hawes and adjacent Gayle we've a multitude of beautiful accessible waterfalls, The Dales Country Museum, Wensleydale Creamery (with its visitor centre and free cheese tasting room), and some really rewarding local walks. Less than two miles away on The Pennine Way is the hamlet of Hardraw, with Hardraw Force (the highest vertical drop waterfall in England) and the 800 year old Green Dragon Inn (which is the epitome of an old world dales pub with real fires and a great atmosphere). Cyclists love our proximity to the 'Cote De Buttertubs' climb out of Hawes which featured in the 2014 Tour De France and also the MTB routes in the area. 

We're central for visiting the 'crown jewel' attractions of Hardraw Force, Aysgarth Falls, Bolton Castle, Bolton Abbey, Malham Cove, Ribblehead Viaduct, Ingleton Waterfall Trail, Yorkshire Three Peaks, Fountain's and Jervaux Abbey's & all the locations famously featured in All Creatures Great and Small (we specialise in helping people find these locations).
